Complete Document Checklist for Maharashtra Solar Applications
Incomplete or incorrect documentation is the leading cause of application delays and rejections in the MSEDCL solar workflow. Homeowners must ensure all files are scanned in high resolution and have matching details before uploading.
Mandatory Document Checklist
| Document Name | Verification Checkpoint | Format & Size Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Electricity Bill (Latest) | Must be under 3 months old. The name and address must match Aadhaar exactly. | PDF, under 500 KB |
| Aadhaar Card | Used for identity validation. Name spelling must match the utility bill. | PDF/JPEG, under 500 KB |
| PAN Card | Used for tax check and verification on National Portal. | PDF/JPEG, under 200 KB |
| Property Ownership Document | Copy of Index-2, Registry, or the latest Property Tax Receipt. | PDF, under 1 MB |
| NOC from Co-op Society | Mandatory only if installing on shared apartment roofs. | PDF, under 500 KB |
| Cancelled Cheque / Bank Details | The bank account must belong to the applicant (matching the bill name). | JPEG, under 300 KB |
Important Guidelines for Shared Roofs
If you reside in a co-operative housing society in Mumbai or Pune, you must obtain a formal **No Objection Certificate (NOC)** signed by the society's Chairman or Secretary. The NOC must state that the roof space allocated for your panels is approved for your exclusive use, or that the society has no objection to the installation.
Name Discrepancy Workaround
If the electricity bill is registered under a deceased family member's name (e.g. parent or grandparent), you must first apply for a **Name Transfer** on the MSEDCL portal. If name transfer is delayed, you must upload a registered **Gazette Certificate** or an **Affidavit** on stamp paper declaring legal heir status.
