Troubleshooting Solar Delays in Gujarat

While Gujarat has a smooth process, technical or administrative snags can still occur. Here is how to resolve the most common issues.

1. Sanctioned Load Rejection

Problem: You applied for a 5kW system, but your DISCOM rejected feasibility because your home's sanctioned load is only 3kW.
Solution: Apply for a Load Enhancement through your DISCOM's online portal or local office. Pay the requisite deposit, get your load increased to 5kW, and then re-apply for solar feasibility.

2. Portal Login Issues (Mobile Number Mismatch)

Problem: You cannot register on the National Portal because the mobile number linked to your consumer number in the DISCOM database is outdated or belongs to a builder.
Solution: Visit your local MGVCL/DGVCL/PGVCL sub-division office and submit a KYC update form to link your current mobile number to your consumer ID.

3. Subsidy Claim Button Not Active

Problem: Your system is running and the net meter is installed, but you cannot submit bank details for the subsidy.
Solution: The DISCOM has likely not uploaded the digital Commissioning Certificate to the portal. Follow up with the Junior Engineer to push the file in the backend system.

4. Shading Issues Post-Installation

Problem: Your system is generating significantly less power than the vendor estimated.
Solution: Check for hard shading from new construction, water tanks, or growing trees. Ensure your vendor used sufficient elevation structures. If shading is unavoidable, consider upgrading to microinverters to prevent shading on one panel from dragging down the whole array.
