UPPCL Regional DISCOM Solar Application Guide
Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) manages power distribution across UP through five regional subsidiaries. To secure net metering approval, you must apply to the specific DISCOM serving your area.
Regional UPPCL DISCOM Subsidiaries
- PVVNL (Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd.): Serves western UP, including Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Muradabad, and Saharanpur.
- MVVNL (Madhyanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd.): Serves central UP, including Lucknow, Bareilly, Lakhimpur, Ayodhya, and Devipatan.
- PuVVNL (Poorvanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd.): Serves eastern UP, including Varanasi, Allahabad, Gorakhpur, Mirzapur, and Azamgarh.
- DVVNL (Dakshinanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd.): Serves southern/western areas, including Agra, Aligarh, Jhansi, and Banda.
- KESCO (Kanpur Electricity Supply Company): Exclusively serves the Kanpur metropolitan area.
Online Application Workflow (UPPCL Portal)
- Submit Feasibility: Register on the National Portal, enter your regional DISCOM name, and upload details of your existing connection (matching your bill's account ID).
- Site Inspection: The local division office (under the Executive Engineer or Sub-Divisional Officer) inspects the local transformer capacity and issues a technical clearance certificate.
- Vendor Execution: Hire a vendor empanelled with UPNEDA/UPPCL to install the system using DCR panels.
- Testing & JIR: Request bi-directional meter testing. UPPCL technicians inspect the safety of your installation and sign the Joint Inspection Report (JIR).
- Commissioning: The net meter is installed and grid sync is enabled. The SDO issues a commissioning certificate.
